Coot-tha Collection

Warning: Children Avert Your Eyes

Admittedly this warning may have be useful in previous posts.

Last week saw the introduction of Hills to my program ..... when I say hills I mean Mount Coot-tha. This is a 12K tourist road but a circuit of just under 10K from the Slaughter Falls (Remember that name ... it is relevant) car park. This track is popular with mountain goats and cyclists. The cyclists will come whirling down from the opposite direction and swosh past the hard working runners whilst challenging the numerous assents.

Being the Clever Executioner this doesn't worry me.

I smile .... the cyclist approaches ... and just as they whiz past I swing my battle axe and there is a "swish" ..... "plop" ...... "roll, roll , roll" ... I look around ...... kick the bike into the bush ... and then continue my run.

*makes note: avoid cyclist route near Slaughter Falls upon next triumphant returning visit to the Queensland*

(my colleague is soon retiring from Sydney to Noosa, and begs me to come and keep him out of trouble after IM Florida)

hmmm. to ethplain the man. when he's on a bike, he doesn't like walkers or runners. when he's running, he doesn't like the cyclists.

one thing to consider here.... brisbane is congested with cyclists. not their fault, it's a bike heavy city, but there is very little room for runners and cyclists on the trails here. cyclists don't like runners. runners don't like them. cars hate them all. and i just dislike anyone walking three abreast or pram/stroller beasts.
and not all cyclists or runners are good pipple. bush cycles. nuff said. i'm sure he only executes the deserving. remember... he's clever! not random. we're all about culling the naughty.

There have been times when I have been tempted! But then on (the very rare) occasion I am a cyclist too!

there are dikkedz in every sport. now we all know WEEEEEE are cool and WEEEEEE are respectful to others. but you cannot tell me that because you're a cyclist/runner/swimmer/triath/blader/extreme knitter, that the everyone in your sport is good. i've been nearly run over by wheelie types, elbowed by runners and nearly chomped by unattended dogs. these people need cyber decapitation. nice people who share the road keep their heads.
and if you're a parent who lets their kids play on the bike/running/walking path...
elizabeth can't be decapitated. too nice of a smile. she also wouldn't ever skim a runner.
