Small Celebrations

A recent comment on my marathon program was "LSDs scare the wife. It means bad things in this house." I have since determined that this relates to a ritual, I have very rarely practiced, in celebrating my long runs:

Here are possible answers for you to decide how I celebrate my long runs:

a/ hanging out on the couch listening to Mariah Carey hits
b/ soaking in the tub with cheezy poofs, beer and the catalogs allowing me to virtual shop whilst my tired muscles recover and I rebalance my salt intake
c/ (it's not "c")
4/ none of the above

HILARIOUS! I like your list of thoughts while running. I am so across the board that I don't know if I could narrow it to just 10 things.

On the bug eating in Thailand, I have to side w/your wife - can't blame her for not wanting to kiss you for a while. ...remove the wings and eat...yuck!

Nice post. Your list of running thoughts is interesting, I also spend my time calculating pace and distance. The long runs rituals always involve all the family but my wife is so sweet to understand my hobby. I have just sent an e-mail to the shop where I bought the Garmin to get informations about his/her/its (???) failure.

Replace the cheezy poofs with pretzels and the beer with sports drink and you have my routine.

If I remember right eating worms had the same effect on my wife as bugs did with yours.

Now he gets chicken flavored cheesypoofs (cluckypoofs?) because he knows I won't be tempted by the bag, eat too many, and then whine about my butt. Chicken flavored things are big here.
What he isn't telling you is that he's surfing catalogs so he can découpage the toilet seat in U.S. brand junk food.
Sigh.... But I'd have it no other way, really. I love my freak.

I've never considered having a picnic in the bathtub. Youl could be onto something remarkable there. Tell me, is it an ice bath or a regular bath ;o)

great photo! I wasn't able to find any cheesy poofs so I had to settle for some pretzels and Miller Lite ;)
