Are you ready?
Relax!
The title is not about something you have to brace yourself for. The question is about the doubt in my mind regarding my ability to complete the next marathon and what time I might run. Do you ever feel that way?
Since Melbourne Marathon a lot of my efforts have been about recovery. I guess I am close to recovered, but now I'm tapering, so will never know if I could manage a full weeks training. Add to that the full on work schedule prior to Christmas. The flight out on Tuesday next week, can't come quick enough.

look... take advantage of a few negatives about this marathon. 1) it's crowded. you won't be going full steam at the beginning and you know you won't have an ideal time, so why make up for it? smaller marathons are better for busting your fanny to get a faster time (i can write "fanny" because i'm an american. and i love that it might make him squirm. FANNY FANNY FANNY!). and there is also no cut off time. if you're hurting, if your legs are on fire, remember dick van dyke... stop, drop, and roll! okay, don't roll, but mosey. and if you and i end up finishing together at my time, that's not a bad thing. rumor has it that i smell like raspberry jam rolls at the end of a marathon. i'm also quite sure that hawaii has a few massage places... but no happy ending!
If you avoid all those small alcoholic beverage bottles on the flight over you might just be fine in Hawaii.
i believe in you.
Do I ever feel that way? Hello, just went through the same thing and I managed to squek in under 4 hours. I expect you to make me look like an out of shape slug.
What? You're doing another one already?? And in HAWAII?!?! geesh, I have got to start paying more attention!
Good luck! You can do it!!
I always feel that way. But I have good reason too. You however are a different story!
From what I've seen you will be flying in Hawaii. Wednesday for instance, we were running pretty solidly at a pace you found easy.
I think Tuesday's TT will give you a much need confidence boost.
I think you'll be fine and that it is completely normal to feel that way before a marathon. At least that's how I feel before a marathon and I like to think that I am completely normal! ;-)
